THE PROCESS
Prism Nails began from a few materials: resin, silicon letter molds, holographic paper, and a desk light. The inspiration for this project came from the rainbow refraction that appears when sunlight hits glass. After creating clear letters out of resin, I experimented with how the light refracts through the letters while sitting on the holographic paper. The results were mesmerizing.
After creating the concept and branding ideas. The prismatic letters made its way into the digital world. I created these letters with the intention exploring the beauty of the rainbow and how people's personalities reflect that. All personalities refract different shades of the rainbow and are different and unique.
The typographic style of this project ultimately relates to Prism Nails because of my intention of wanting to allow all kinds of people to express themselves in their own ways. There are countless amounts of shades in the rainbow if you look closely enough. That is what humans all are, part of this vast rainbow trying to express ourselves in all sorts of ways.
